Our Rooms

The centre has two play rooms:

Tiny Tots Room: caters for 15 children from age 6 weeks to 2 years.
Kinder Room: caters for 25 children from 3 to 5 years.

PROGRAMMING FOR THE CHILDREN

Children will be immersed in an environment which fosters and promotes key learning experiences. Each week the staff at the centre plan developmental educational programs. The program covers children’s physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs on an individual and group basis.

Within the program children are given opportunities to:
 - Make choices
 - Develop creative abilities
 - Problem solve
 - Share and cooperate with others

During the day your child will have the opportunity to be involved in the following activities:

 - Group time: e.g. singing, dancing, instruments, sharing stories
 - Tidy time: Each child is encouraged to help tidy the room
 - Indoor play: e.g. art, crafts, music and movement
 - Outdoor play: climbing, ball games, sand play
 - Meal times
 - Rest times: We encourage all children to take a rest after lunch. Mattresses and bedding
   are supplied and cleaned regularly.

OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM - PLANNING FOR INDIVIDUAL CHILDREN

Staff are responsible for monitoring the individual development of each child. This involves the recording of observed behaviours in all developmental areas. This information is the basis of the children’s program. Regular consultation with the Director and parents is an ongoing practice.

Staff will initiate and facilitate regular ongoing communication with parents concerning their child. Recorded information about their child will be available for discussion with parents at a mutually convenient time.

All children’s records are confidential and will only be released to outside agencies, with parent’s permission and/or court order. All records pertaining to the children will be securely stored.
